Sugopop Debuts Its First Art Toy Collection: Welcome to Mila’s World

A fresh name in the world of premium art toys is about to make its mark. Meet Sugopop, a new independent studio from China with a deep passion for storytelling, character design, and the art toy scene that continues to thrive both locally and globally. After a year of development, their very first designer toy set—Mila’s World—is set to release in Q4 2025.

Sugopop was born out of a love for collectible art toys and a desire to create something with heart. Drawing on the rich creative culture surrounding the Chinese toy scene, the studio is focused on crafting high-end, emotionally resonant figures that stand out not just as toys, but as small works of art. For their debut collection, Sugopop has teamed up with Colombian-born, Japan-based painter and illustrator Mila Useche. Known for her soft, dreamlike characters and deeply expressive artwork, Mila’s visual world has been translated into three-dimensional form for the very first time. With a licensing agreement in place, Sugopop has worked closely with Mila to bring some of her most beloved illustrations to life.

The result is Mila’s World—a series of 13cm tall figures, made with high-quality PU (polyurethane), designed to capture the painterly charm and personality of Mila’s characters. The production run will be strictly limited to 600 pieces, making this a true collector’s edition. While there may be colorway versions released in the future, this initial wave will never be reproduced. The studio recently completed the prototype phase—a major milestone in the journey—and is now beginning manufacturing. Pricing details are still being finalized, but Sugopop plans to share more updates soon as they finalize their website and expand their social presence.
