Review/Unboxing - Playmates Toys goes all in with AWAGAMA and their CHEEKYS Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures!
From the creative team at Awagama (Jeremy Madl, Josh Carlson, Scott Wetterschneider) - the first collaboration with Playmates Toys is an initial, limited-edition collection of 3½-inch tall Cheekys figures featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I was sent out some of these to unbox and check out in person, and I'm a fan - love to see MAD's design sine through on these licensed products, and TMNT to boot - pretty epic! Check out the YouTube video above, and sub if you haven't done so yet!
The Cheekys base sculpt head serves a giant canvas, its 2-1/2-inch round head providing creatives with the opportunity to draw a highly detailed, colorful figure face. The figure's full torso stands 3-1/2 inches high and features three points of articulation – the neck joint, and its two arms. The designers included some “junk in the trunk” as its bottom - a bit of booty action, just enough, enabling the toy to sit balanced on a collectors’ shelf.
Each member of the original Turtles gang will be stylized in unique Cheekys fashion: vivid colors, signature mouth treatments, and unique accessories. Available for $19.99, the Classic Color variations (featuring Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo) are arriving at Walmart now, and the iconic Black and White Comic Book design (including Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo and Shredder) are now available at Target.
