'Imaginary Friends' - New works by Brent Houzenga!

Artist Brent Houzenga is excited to announce and showcase his solo show, Imaginary Friends, which is a project that started as many of his other projects do, with a series of connections that led to an idea. He had made the bootleg action figures for his band's EP release. He had originally thought that he would paint the figures that we were going to be used for that, but 3.5 inch figures seemed a little too small to do his thing on. While hunting for those figures he came across a few of these 12" figures at a junk store. "Ahhhhhh. These are probably big enough to do my thing on."

He had already figured out how to scale down his process to make 5"x7" paintings. Playing music, creating bootleg action figures, and now painting ON action figures seemed very full circle to him. Tons of colors and abstract shapes really bring these figures to life. Imaginary Friends opened Friday (Sept 13) in New Orleans at Gallery Two (Instagram) in the French Quarter.
