Back in 2016,
Stranger Factory issued the "
Li-Fu" version of
Otto Björnik's stunning "
Bai Chu" resin figure, which portrayed a traditional
Jiangshi (Chinese hopping vampire). And now the 5½-inch tall sculpture has a follow-up design, the heroic counterpart titled "
Bai Lan", depicting a Taoist priestess (or
Daoshi). And Bjornik has created the pictured edition using coloration meant to accent and accompany the "Bai Chu (Li-Fu)" release, though it looks great on its own as well! Possibly titled the "Kahel Edition", this design features one hand with outstretched fingers to touch attack any
jiangshi she might encounter while the other hand is interchangeable, held in place by magnetic force, allowing you to choose to display her holding a handbell, every ring giving any undead she's subdued a command to hop as well as a sound to follow, or a blood orange, the favorite treat of her adversary. Appropriately being announced on the day that Bjornik's "
FLORA & FAUNA" solo exhibition opens at the gallery space, this edition of only 30 hand-painted pieces will be available on May 18th, 2018 at 12 Noon Pacific time at
circusposterus.com for $125 apiece.
