For its 20th Anniversary last year, Staple worked with artist James Jean for a limited-edition sculpture that released on March 4th, 2017. This year, the folks over at
Mighty Jaxx are releasing this phenomenal sculpture in this beautiful BONE edition – featuring a subtle, weathered ivory-look finishing, making this piece a timeless collectible.
James Jean reimagines Staple’s iconic pigeon motif as a dramatically posed protagonist pierced with arrows. The figure is named after General Washizu from Akira Kurosawa’s “Throne of Blood”, which concludes with Washizu facing a beautifully choreographed barrage of arrows. Jean’s winged figure is an embodiment of persistence over adversity, a memory of the slings and arrows anyone is likely to face over the course of 20 years. Washizu Bone Edition by Staple X James Jean releases
HERE on the 12th of May 2018, at 10am EDT, in a 24-hour timed release for $369 a pop. Each 9.8” X 12” X 13” Vinyl Art Collectible piece is numbered with edition size, based on the total number sold during the timed-release. (Ships August 2018)
