When
IKEA announced their plans to release 8 pieces of art in the form of handmade Swedish art glass (posted
HERE), I was really interested and intrigued to see how these pieces would turn out. When you get these in hand and realize the size and quality of all of the pieces you can't fail to be impressed, and the attention to detail combined with care and attention really make these must have pieces. Retailing at £25.00 in the UK these pieces are priced really well and should sell quickly.
I have tried to take some pictures of these pieces but to really appreciate any glass art pieces like this you need to get up close and handle them - have also included a photo with a small Dunny as well so that you can get an idea of scale... check out the full slide show of photos below - amazing pieces!
Featuring the work of the following artists:
Nathan Jurevicius, Michael Lau, Ludvig Löfgren, Junko Mizuno, Joe Ledbetter, James Jarvis, Coarse, and Arkiv Vilmansa... "
At IKEA, we’re guided by the vision of “creating a better everyday life for the many people”, so for years we’ve been providing people all over the world with functional and affordable design. But we believe that art can also play its part. It shouldn’t just be in galleries and museums - it belongs in the home too." These appear to be at select Ikea's around the globe, and most all seem to be readily available... that being said, it might be safe to call your local store to see if they have them before you head dow.
