If you're not one of the nearly 200,000 people following
Paul Jackson on Instagram, then perhaps you recall the stunningly talented and creative illustrator's work from last year's "
Darwin's Revenge" collaboration with
Mighty Jaxx. Or, maybe, you already saw our
previous announcement about his new designer toy project with
ToyQube, the above-pictured "Banalien" figure. A masterful mergining of the xenomorph threat from the Alien film franchise and a banana, this so-called "forbidden fruit" was conceived by Jackson as part of last year's Inktober event, an enamel pin and sticker set rendition of the design self-released by him in November 2017. And now those that want a sculptural form are getting their first chance to grab one at
Shanghai Toy Show (April 5-7), with a limited quantity of these debuting at ToyQube's booth C05-06. And while "there will be an
online release later this month", the producer says of this roughly 10-inch tall piece, we were surprised to discover this isn't a polystone resin but rather, according to Jackson, "it's a vinyl toy!"
