Amanda Visell's Wood Sculpture of "R2D2" from Star Wars!

In a joking statement, artist Amanda Visell reveals her "Only Hope" wood sculpture with the accompanying text "A long time ago, far far away… here's the first answering machine." To be fair, poor R2D2 would probably be better compared to the first messenger pigeon, his stocky droid form carrying Princess Leia's holographic message to Obi-Wan. Regardless, Visell's rendition of his mechanical form stands 6-inches tall, a hand-carved and hand-painted wood sculpture depicting not just R2D2 but also the spectrally blue image of Leia that he projects! Visell is completely handmaking this design in an edition of 10 pieces, which are available right now in the myswitcheroo online shop for $275 apiece.
