For the last stop on the
Uamou tour, we land in Jimbocho, a part of Tokyo known for its
bookstores! There are also a lot of fun restaurants in the area too, including some well known curry houses. But back to art talk - this particular bookstore, Books Sanseido, is not only a large resource for books, the entry floor is also a place for gifts and art pop ups! In addition to finding an entire shelf dedicated to Book Uamous, there were many pieces from artists local and far, such as handmade leather goods from Tokyo or slightly more mass produced figurines by European artists like
Lisa Larson. Studio Uamou has often done many bookstore popups - usually there are more than Book Uamous for sale when Studio Uamou has pop-ups, but this particular display was dedicated to many different variations of Book Uamou, some metallic, some matte, and all with various words and imagery in their bellies. This pop up isn't seasonal, so you can still stop by and pick up pieces! Check them out at 1 Chome-1 Kanda Jinbocho, Chiyoda, Tokyo!
