Inspired by the appearance of a
luchador enmascarado, or "masked professional wrestler" that takes part in
lucha libre, artist
Tadeo Mendoza reveals his carefully modified and hand-painted Dunny creation for the
Dunny Hecho en México, or DMX, collective's "Día de Muertos 2" series, the Golden Ticket prize that one lucky buyer will win (in addition to their blind box)… "El demonio"! Literally meaning "The Demon", his name follows in a line of 'evil' inspired titles for famous
luchador enmascarado contenders, like
Demonio Azul (Blue Demon),
Diablo Velasco (The Devil Velasco), and
Satánico (The Satanic One). Having a slightly undead, otherwordly feel from its torn off ear with bloody hole stump, this piece is fantastically executed and will surely satisfy whatever lucky collector ends up with it!
The
previously announced "Dia de Muertos 2" series (DMX8) will feature an amazing array of talent. The lineup has been revealed to be
Avatar666,
Cucaracha Borracha,
El Hooligan,
Jump Jumper Ant,
Lupilu Soler,
Matucha,
Mr. Mitote,
Shiffa,
Tadeo Mendoza, and
Yoste KMKZ with three chase designs made by
Matucha,
Lupila Soler, and
Cucaracha Borracha as well as one Golden Ticket prize made by Tadeo Mendoza, though the Golden Ticket winner will just have to cover shipping costs of it. The $105 apiece blind boxes (shipping not included) are available now, with those interested simply emailing orders to
dunnyhechoenmexico [at] gmail [dot] com.
