With Día de Muertos rapidly approaching, I'm sure most people throughout México are preparing to celebrate this Day of the Dead remembrance holiday. And one of the most iconic images associated with this time of the year there is the calavera, or decorated sugar skulls, that are traditionally presented as offering for deceased relatives. Merging this colorful style with the equally classic concept of La Calavera Catrina, or the dapper skeleton, artist Shiffa proudly presents his newest creation, "Don Trino", whose name roughly translates to something like Mr. Shakes! Standing an impressive 8½-inches tall, this original design has been produced in vinyl by Shiffa's fellow Mexican artist, Chakaltois (aka Avatar666). In fact, this edition of 300 pieces has been completely manufactured in Mexico! Articulated at the neck and right shoulder, each one is accompanied by a trick-or-treat style skull bucket in its hand.
