Have you ever wondered what Tim Burton's
The Nightmare Before Christmas would've been titled if, you know, that wasn't the title? My bet is on
Merry Halloweenmas being an apt replacement, and I'm guessing the good folks at Philadelphia's
Mothership Gallery must agree, as that's the name of their upcoming exhibition of pieces themed upon any holiday from Halloween to New Years! For this showcase, artist
Kevin "Klav" Derken (he of the
Creeping Death Robot Club fame) created an assortment of original resin pieces, mostly themed around the upcoming spooky holiday of Halloween. Behind the obviousness of the skull-headed robotic bat known as the "Death-Moth", Klav has contributed a modified "Crush" figure from Neptune Studios named "Franken-bot" as well as an aptly named "Pumpkin Tank" using a sculpted Dunny head by WickedMastermind. But that's not all, as Derken also created two unique pieces on his "
Ma.Koro" form!
Merry Halloweenmas opens on October 28th, 2017 and runs thru December at
Mothership Gallery, 223 W. Girard Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19123. Kevin "Klav" Derken's above-pictured pieces, as well as those by other contributing artists, are available to purchase from the gallery, which can be reached at
