Since my in-depth interview with
Kevin "Klav" Derken (
see full article HERE), it feels like he's been blossoming more and more into his own artist, applying the skills and aesthetics he learned from years of Maschinen Krieger building into a universe of his own. And a frequent form he's heavily modified for this new direction is Huck Gee's "The Blank" form, Derken transforming the resin figure with its skullhead into a rusty, robotic creature oozing coils. But he hasn't avoided the "Re:Blank", Gee's robotic rendition of his form, though Derken has been pushing these even further, like the pictured version that uses part of Boba Fett's Slave-1 spacecraft for its tail! Both of these versions were commissioned by a collector and are thus not available for sale, though those interested can commission their own pieces by contacting the artist directly at
kevin [dot] derken [at] gmail [dot] com.
