Artist
Josh Keyes has been having his fantastical animal-based designs converted from the page into sculptural form by
ToyQube for several years now, starting with 2013's "Lifted II". But at this year's New York Comic Con, I had the chance to see his newest piece, the pictured "The Collector" sculpture, in-person (
see more here) and it is a true masterpiece! Based on Keyes's print of the same name from 2012, "The Collector" is a 18×7×9-inch beast, the subject of the work being a rhino that has been accumulating road signs upon his horn. And while the signage isn't as prominant in this pristine white form, subtle engravings for their markings, as shown below, more than capture their flare. Available on October 23rd, 2017 at 9am Pacific time from
toyqube.com, these stunning works seem extremely affordable at their $180.00 plus shipping price tag, especially given their massive stature.
