Some children of the '80s may recall the 'slime toy' craze that swept the nation, which involved adding an oozing slime element to any piece imaginable. One of many releases within this trend was Mattel's Mad Scientist Monster Lab, which was released in Japan by Ma-Ba (a Mattel and Bandai cooperation) as The Laboratory of Mad Dr. Fear. And this release started a line in 1987 that was exclusive to Japan, titled
ゾンビーズ, but known to English speaking fans as the Ma-Ba Zombies, a series of 2-inch tall rubber monster figures with hollow bodies that you would fill up with slime. And the now iconic look of these Ma-Ba Zombie creatures is the basis for the newest release from
Deadly Delivery, as pictured above.
Now, if you don't know what Deadly Delivery is then
watch my video review of their very first releases in the line to get the low-down. As for this trio of figures, they are collectively being called "Season of the Itch", a not-so-veiled reference to
Halloween 3: Season of the Witch, which focused on Silver Shamrock Novelties's costume masks made in the likeness of -- you guessed it -- a skeleton, a jack-o'-lantern, and a witch! Merging these two '80s classics together seamlessly, we're presented with resin cast renditions each by a different member of the Deadly Delivery crew: "Pumpkin Boy" by
Zectron, "HAG" by
Retroband, and "Skull Kid" by the newest member of the collective,
VileSore.
With each of these 2-inch tall pieces cast in colorful resin, they will be presented in Candy Orange (as seen above), Witch's Brew Green, and Bone Ash Grey respectively. Available on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 at 10am Pacific time exclusively from the
Deadly Delivery online shop, the three-figure set will be $75 or you can purchase individual pieces for $30 each.
