After the bankruptcy of pioneering toy manufacturer
Marusan in 1969, three companies were formed in the wake by various ex-employees and owners, including
Bullmark. Then, due to a shifting demand away from soft vinyl kaiju in the '70s, Bullmark went out of business in 1977 only to be revived by one of its original founders in 2009. And now it stands as a piece of history that is still pioneering a medium they helped make famous, with an announcement just being made that
Hirota Saigansho's owner, Yasuaki Hirota, will be collaborating with the company on a future release! Whether this will be a rendition of HxSaigansho's signature "Gorilla-ju" design or something new is unknown, but we understand that whatever form it takes will be debuted at Hirota-san's
upcoming solo exhibition in Japan.
