It's been a year since
we mentioned that pop surrealist
Tara McPherson would be returning to designer toys, having a piece produced by
Tomenosuke +
Circus Posterus, and now we've spotted a test pull of said piece! Still without officially announced title, the seahorse unicorn (or "seahorsicorn") aspect is removeable, revealing McPherson's reoccuring "hole through the chest" concept in the girl. Supposedly measuring 19⅔ inches tall (50cm), this massive piece was sculpted by Kaneko Yohei of
Mirock Toy, who was tasked at making it size appropriate for the interchanging of head with the "Stingy Jack", "Calliope Jackalope", or "Snake Skelve" pieces. Needless to say, we can't wait to see this monster-sized work of sweetness!
UPDATE: Brandt Peters and Kathie Olivas at Circus Posterus inform us that the interchanging head concept, at the massive size needed to accomplish it, were abandoned on this release and a height of roughly 10-inches tall was decided to be the ideal one — and that's still a LOT of gorgeous McPherson figure to love!
