Takashi Murakami's "Mr. DOB" Figure for ComplexCon from BAIT + SWITCH Collectibles!

Fans of Takashi Murakami should be familiar with the artist's whimsical, sharp-toothed character "Mr. DOB." Considered Murakami's first signature creation, its appearance is obviously inspired by the aesthetics of Japanese anime (animated film) and manga (comic book). Named after a contraction of the Japanese slang expression "dobojite" (or "why?"), the real question has been: "Why don't I own a copy of the stunningly surreal Mr. DOB?!?" Released by BAIT + SWITCH Collectibles, the pictured "Mr. DOB" limited edition sculpture will be released shortly, though it will only be available for pre-order at the ComplexCon gift shop. I have my fingers crossed that this is merely the debut of the work, allowing those of us unable to attend the gathering a chance to snag the $250 apiece works at a later date.
