A few years ago, professional illustrator Vincent Scala created a few silkscreen projects for a gallery show in Brooklyn. Having worked for the likes of Nickelodeon and Disney, Scala decided to alter their innocent aesthetic into horrific re-conceptualizations… and the results are images you've probably seen: Vampire Snow White and Mickey Monster. But now it's time for Scala to take his concept from 2D to 3D… Yes, he wants to make "Mickey Monster" as a 6-inch tall vinyl figure with three points of articulation (head and arms) — and the design still is grasping onto a Minnie Mouse rendition, King Kong-style! But the real bonus? You can back this on Kickstarter now with a cost of only $20 per "Mickey Monster" figure! Seriously, I don't know what quality these will be at that price, but it's worth the investment to find out!
