We all have plastic gift cards from the likes of Starbucks, Peets, and Dunkin Donuts that — once emptied — we shamefully just toss away. Well, Phil Foss of
TYO Toys has created an intriguing way in which to "upcycle" those spent gift cards! More of a curiosity than an artist outing, the "
Coffee Card Robot" is a posable robot figure that's made from two gift cards, each one cut and heat formed into shape. And since the pieces are held together by bolts, they even have 15 points of articulation.
Currently on Kickstarter, you can get a PDF explaining how to create your own for $5 or, for only $9, you can get the unassembled kit as pictured below, which even includes a branded screwdriver.
