Coarse Toys's "Glitch" Wood Sculptures give "paw!" a new friend!

Since opening their Los Angeles studio, the artist duo of Mark Landwehr & Sven Waschk, better known as Coarse, have had the physical space to explore new territories with their sculptural art. Taking their classic "paw!" design and giving it a natural warmth by carving it out of wood, the pictured "Glitch" busts adds a new false friend, "arrow," perched atop the head of "paw!" With the main 9-inch tall bust available in two versions, carved out of walnut and white oak respectively, I love how the varied colorations of the material drastically alters the perceived mood of the piece. The "arrow" accomplice is cast in high gloss, porcelain-like resin for both versions, each edition being limited to only 50 pieces.
