Depicting director
Alejandro Jodorowsky in his role as the titular gunfighter from the surrealistic western
El Topo (1970), this 14-inch tall polystone resin sculpture from
Unbox Industries perfectly captures the worn, weathered, and lovelorn atmosphere that marks the second half of the film. Made in partnership with Jodorowsky and ABKCO Films, this is the first of four pieces depicting elements from
El Topo and
Holy Mountain (1973) that
Andrea Blasich sculpted. A tad more of a realistic recreation than I was personally hoping for, not quite capturing the fevered spirit of the film, I have no question that this work will be masterfully made and worth every bit of its $200 value. Limited to a mere 200 pieces, all bearing reproductions of Jodorowsky's signature of approval, these will be available on October 21st, 2016 in the
Unbox Industries online store.
