As you might've noticed, Chrome is the hot new thing at the moment, every artist applying it to their figures. But would it still be art if you applied it to someone else's work? I'm having a hard time calling
Tokyo Toy Bastard an artist, mainly because this form of bootlegging doesn't make him one. Yes, his pictured "Bastard Boba v.3" pieces are pristine productions, every bit as quality as mass-produced figures, but they just seem like cool collectibles to me. And, that said, they are cool collectibles and there's nothing wrong with that! Depicting the 3¾-inch tall Kenner "Boba Fett" action figure, retaining its vintage-style articulation, these custom carded figures shine… especially when light hits their metallic shells! Even the rocket and blaster are solid colored plastic and hard rubber, and not painted to ensure no flaking or chipping. Limited to only 10 pieces made, these collectibles are available now
HERE in the
Has No Talent Bootlegs ebay shop for $50 apiece.
