When George Romero's
Dawn of the Dead was released in Italy, it featured a completely different edit of the film (by Dario Argento!) and a score by Goblin, all re-packaged under the title
Zombi. Due to the massive success of this, a sequel,
Zombi 2, began production and it would end up being quite possibly the most well-known film by horror maestro Lucio Fulci. From slowly impaling an eyeball to a shark vs. zombie underwater fight, this film pretty much had it all… including some of the most gruesome looking undead you'll ever see. Inspired by this aesthetic, Aaron Moreno of
Retroband Toys prepares us for the newest version of his 12-inch tall "
MEATS" vinyl figure: "ZOMBI MEATS!" This beautifully deformed figure has been painted with V-Color sprays, attired in custom-made distressed garments, and even has a resin cast swarm of worms in one eye socket! Accompanied by a
Zombi 2 tribute mini poster, these look like essentials for any collection… And, thankfully, they will be a larger size run. Limited to 25 pieces in this edition, they will become available on Saturday, August 27th, 2016 at 10pm Pacific time in
Retroband's online shop for $300 apiece. Honestly, once you hold one of these massive works of art in your hands, you feel every penny's worth of value in these pieces.
