It's a designer toy version of the old exploitation film tripleheader, featuring Aaron Moreno of
Retroband, Jeremi Rimel of
Miscreation Toys, and Zach Taylor & Ezra Haidet's
Violence Toy. Titled "Vinylploitation!," each artist has their original vinyl creations teased with taglines in-line with grindhouse classics… Retroband's 12-inch tall "MEATS" is depicted as "a bloodthirsty killer with an appetite for flesh" while Miscreation Toys's 15-inch tall "The Iron Monster" is the "robot monster [that] summons undead minions from beyond the grave," the latter being Rimel's 9½-inch tall "Autopsy Zombie" figures — the "Staple Baby" & "Gergle." As for Violence Toy, their frightening foursome — the 7-inch tall "Asogian Assassin," "Death Car Exterminator," "Time-Gore," and "Trollborg" — are members of "ruthless death cults from a barren wasteland!" One can only hope these descriptors aren't just advertising, but a thematic link that binds all the works in the exhibition! Taking place at the Beacon, NY-based
Clutter Gallery, this event's opening will be on September 10th, 2016 with a reception from 6-9pm local time, with those unable to attend the opening being able to join
The Clutter Gallery's Preview List for first online chance to purchase pieces from the exhibit.
