At this point, I think it's safe to call the titular character from 1988's
My Neighbor Totoro a cultural icon, and not just one to their native Japan. The Hayao Miyazaki directed & Studio Ghibli produced piece has definitely inspired a whole generation who watched the animated work either in their formative years or young adulthood… And while I'm not sure when Taiwanese-American artist
MJ Hsu watched it, I know it had an impact on her. As pictured above, the "Totoro Donatsu" is one of the two "special flavors" of her
previously announced 3-inch tall and 1½-inch wide resin "Donatsu" being released today (July 7th, 2016) at 10am Pacific time in
Hsu's online shop. Costing $50 apiece (or 3 for $120 with the coupon code DONATSU3), these will be available for one week only! Yes, instead of being limited to a hard count per design, Hsu is accepting orders on this initial batch of "Donatsu" designs until July 14th, 2016, after which these flavors will not be offered again…
