Lisa Rae Hansen once again revisits her early "
Beaufighters" concept, transforming designer toy shapes into the likenesses of famed World War era fighter planes. Partnering with
Collect & Display, she's created four unique pieces to be released this week, on Friday, July 29th, 2016. The first one, pictured above and immediately below, sees Hansen modify one of her own 4-inch tall resin "Metalhead" characters, titling this one-of-a-kind work "Fangs Out," which is slang for a pilot that is hot for a dog fight! Featuring an articulated head, using magnets, this hand-painted piece will cost $117 and come in a presentation box with certificate, but it won't be the only one available…
Pictured below (top row to bottom) is "Kittyhawk," "Mohawk," and "Tomohawk," a trio of modified and hand-painted 3-inch tall vinyl Dunnys. All coming bagged with header cards, these unique works will be $85 apiece when released as part of Collect & Display's monthly Artist Custom Series on Friday, July 29th, 2016 in
their online shop.
