I'm a huge
Geof Darrow fan, so much so that I recall buying the first issue of Warren Ellis's
Transmetropolitan — which became an immediate favorite title — just to stare at all the details in Darrow's cover illustration. So it's thrilling to learn that
threeA, known for their own attention to detail, have partnered with Darrow to release a line of figures based on his designs beginning in 2017! "The detail is an enticing part of the toy challenge," said 3A co-owner
Ashley Wood to
Newsarama. "The detail is very important and needed, but Geof’s designs are so strong, they tell a story instantly, the detail is great but it’s really only the garnish on [a] great design!" According to threeA's Gregory Prout, also in talking to
Newsarama, the line will initially consist of "Shaolin Cowboy, Nixon [from Hard Boiled], and Big Guy and Rusty [the Boy Robot]." The latter two were co-created with Frank Miller, though there is no word of if he'll be involved in the project. And, to announce this new line, threeA are offering the above pictured limited edition poster at this week's San Diego Comic-Con, available from the company's SDCC Booth #734.
