
In 1965, Andy Warhol became the Velvet Underground's manager and suggested they feature the German-born singer Nico (born Christa Päffgen) on several songs, a collaboration that would ultimately lead to The Velvet Underground & Nico debut album with its iconic Warhol depiction of a banana on the cover. Ashley Wood, in his Popbot Metaverse, enlisted the concept Warhol clones running around (an idea pioneered by Neil Gaiman in Miracleman, I believe), so it wasn't shocking when Wood's
threeA designer toy production house created the "Andy TK" last year. This member of the Tomorrow Kings series returns just in time for San Diego Comic-Con, featuring the SDCC 2016 exclusive "Velvet Andy TK," based on the look of Warhol during his Velvet Underground associated era. Standing 12-inches tall, this 1/6th scale fully articulated figure comes with three interchangeable heads, a wonderfully tailored attire (including leather jacket), and even a tiny pen accessory. While undisclosed at current, we suspect these will be $120 apiece and available from IDW's SDCC booth.
