Having debuted in resin back in 2010, "Doji San" saw his version 2.0 come out a year later when the sofubi rendition was released. And now, five years after that, it's time for version 3.0! Rich Montanari of
Mutant Vinyl Hardcore has been dutifully hand-sculpting the pictured master sculpt, which stands roughly 4¾-inches tall and has 15 parts that will be produced in soft vinyl. Yes, 15 parts! The body, arms, legs, six masks, a main head and an alternate two-headed design (which also has a neck piece). I'm not sure what all the masks are for certain, but there definitely is a laughing devil, a kappa, and a feral cat designs!
Pictured below is the body with the two-headed alternative in place. Please note that this was a work-in-progress sculpt which has since been modified, as Montanari rightfully felt that the left head was too similar to Uzumark's zombie head. Similarities between the right head and the classic Two-Headed Bemon figure are, of course, intentional. In this version, "Doji San" becomes known as "Nobu" and we can't wait to see more of him! That said, these are off to Japan to made into vinyl with an anticipated release in October of this year. And there's even "a super duper surprise" with this piece… Any guesses what it could be?
