If you're like us, then you've been trying to keep an eye on the fantastical work of
Jim McKenzie ever since
we first announced his arrival on the scene. But if you haven't seen much from him over the last two years, that's probably because he's been working studiously to create all the pieces for his debut solo exhibition,
Lost Magic.
The accomplished New York-based animation director and artist, McKenzie's showcase at Santa Monica's
Copro Gallery will feature a variety of his surreal works, including hand-painted resin sculptures. I'm personally quite fond of the "Pugglepillar," pictured above, that looks like a dog-lovers dream of
Alice in Wonderland.
Lost Magic has an opening reception on June 4th from 8pm to 11:30pm local time. The works will be on display through June 25th, 2016, and those interested in purchasing pieces should contact Copro Gallery at
copronason [at] msn [dot] com.
