A few days ago I talked about
Fluffy House's solo
exhibit in Seoul, Korea at
Everyday Mooonday. Lucky for me, I am currently in Seoul for a vacation and was lucky enough to stop by the exhibit! I didn't get to go opening night (since I hadn't flown out yet) but I got to see it just two days after it opened and was able to see everything in its glory!
One of the things I loved was coming in and seeing the entire place transformed - as soon as you found the address, you know exactly that you're at the right place because the door has all the lovely Fluffy House creations peering at you.
As soon as you enter the cafe, you see more hints of the exhibit - the Mr. Cloud in the pastry fridge prepared to accompany your meal. But that Mr. Cloud isn't just there for looks, no. In fact, there is actually a new featured drink with him!
I ordered the Fluffy Cookie Tea drink and it was a delicious frothy milky tea with Mr. Cloud shaped cookies!
Once you have procured your drink, you step out of the cafe area and into the lounge area, which is a combination gathering place and art exhibit, as well as a toy shop. I really loved what Fluffy House did with this space, with all the wonderful wall comic strips, decals, etc.
This is one of the centerpiece wall pieces that you can view as soon as you walk in. I loved the way this image filled the space!
This is a small selection of the vinyl toys for sale in the lounge area. They are all tucked into one corner where all the pieces are meticulously placed and the collection is wide ranging.
Walk upstairs to the gallery itself and there are multiple rooms filled with fun pieces. This is the first one you see when you walk in. I loved this one as soon as I saw it, but unfortunately it was already sold (and not at an inexpensive price either!). It's so playful.
The gallery walls had a nice selection of both painted canvases and framed or printed prints.
One room was dedicated to Fluffy House's latest character, Dyno. Here were customs made by various artists. By the time I attended, only just a few were available, such as the one by
Andrea Kang which is in the photo below on the left.
Here's a close up of Dyno and his lonely heart. There was a plush version of him in the cafe and I wanted him! You can see him in one of the earlier cafe pics. There's only one there, and he's not for sale, but man, I wanted him! I hope they make more =).
There was a selection of hand sketched drawings and paintings available! I was lucky to pick up one - you can't really see it from this angle, but it's the one on the very left, a watercolor of Mr Cloud and a rabbit hanging out. You can see it on my
Instagram if you want!
Here's the comic room, which was filled with various four to five panel comics.
The gaps in the wall are from where I picked up comics to purchase. Apparently I could just get them off the wall and buy them! I had no idea. The other gallery pieces are staying on display until the show ends in June. Each comic strip is a unique story line and they are adorable!
Hand painted canvases on top!
The lovely Mr Cloud in all his various forms. My favorite is the bunny outfit (you can buy these
online as well at their site but they have very limited quantities left).
If you're in Seoul, you should definitely check this show out, it was an amazing experience. This is one of the largest single artist/focus shows I've ever seen in the designer vinyl art world. Stop by before June 12th!
