Do you remember when
we first announced that
MGM Studios have acquired the film rights to
Kidrobot? Back then we only knew that writers Matt Ember & Tom Astle — who worked on the animated films
Home and
Epic — had been tapped for the project, but now its come to light that producer Scott Aversano (
Team America: World Police) is involved and he's brought newcomer director Robert Rugan aboard. Rugan has mainly done commercial spots at this point, including work for Visa, IFC, HBO, Kodak, Nikon and Durex, but I think more people might know his work from a little tongue-in-cheek spoof of Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner that he created titled
Wiley vs Rhodes. Plot details remain unknown, but it stills seems like it will be a "mix animation and live action."
