Valency Genis’s super special ability is to create creatures that resemble taxidermied animals but are devoid of the tragedy normally associated with this aesthetic, and its an ability she's used to magnificent affect since graduating with her BFA from the University of New Mexico in 2011. Wonderfully reminiscent of Dr. Seuss’s works, Genis’s pieces will be the focus of a solo exhibition at the
Rotofugi Gallery. Opening the evening of Friday, March 4th, 2016 from 7-10pm local time,
Spirit Animals will be filled — as teased below — with a massive array of new works. Those interested in acquiring one of these pieces for themselves should join the
Rotofugi Gallery Preview List.
The
Spirit Animals solo art exhibition will open on March 4th with a reception from 7-10
PM local time and be on display until March 27th, 2016 at the
Rotofugi Gallery, 2780 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago, IL 60614.
