Мишка is "born in Brooklyn, raised in Hell," a streetwear and lifestyle brand that has been a fixture since 2003. Merging the monstrous with hip-hop and punk influences,
Kidrobot‘s iconic 3-inch Dunny platform is being remade in a notorious style by the brand. Featuring contributions by co-owners
Greg Rivera (aka Twerps) &
Mikhail Bortnik, brand designers
L'amour Supreme,
Maze Georges &
Ray Martinez, current art director
Maurice Blanco, and former employees
Mike Jones (art director) &
Dane S. Thompson (junior designer). Featuring box art by L'amour Supreme, as seen above, these will be available in March 2016 for $11.95. And now, courtesy of
Rotofugi's pre-order posting, we're thrilled to bring you a full reveal of the set!
On the left is the Cyco Ape Dunny with Faye Wray-esque captive, designed by L'amour Supreme. On the right is a Dunny reminds me of the Toxic Avenger for some reason… It has the word "Duppy" on its shirt, "which is an islander term for GHOST," according to Greg Rivera. Designed by one of junior designers that is no longer with the company, Dane S. Thompson.
The three-eyed skeletal beast with a wondeful torch accessory that's on the left looks like the bones probably glow-in-the-dark. While the designer hasn't been announced, Rivera did comment: "Until your quest is finished, KILL WITH POWER!" And, next to him, is the super soldier bear by L'amour Supreme.
If you know the works of Greg Rivera, or Twerps, then you know that the piece on the left was designed by him. The other piece, on the other hand, has no announced designer, though the title is evidentally "CAMO BLOOD."
The ultimate young thug with hammer, designed by Ray Martinez, is on the left, while — on the right — is a many-eyed Dunny beast designed by the currect art director, Maurice Blanco.
On the left is the classic Death Adders bear with the L'amour eyeball on a stick… designer unlisted, but probably L'amour himself. And, in regards to the Dunny on the right, Greg Rivera states that this is "Mishka’s tribute to Doink The Clown! Originally it was meant to have curly doll hair, like the original WWF figure, but Kidrobot wasn't able to execute it." Designed by former art director Mike Jones, this figure was "designed many years ago" when Mishka were originally "pitching designs to Kirobot. At the time, the owner Paul [Butnick] hated clowns, so any type of clown was banned from any KR line." Rivera further notes that "this was supposed to come with a smaller Dink figure. Hope that wasn't scrapped."
Another Dunny designed by the currect art director, Maurice Blanco, inspired by the art of L'amour Supreme this time around. And I love the bloody switchblade accessory! The other piece is a Hindu-esque goddess with her shrunken head accessory that was designed by Mishka's current cut and sew designer, artist and living legend Maze Georges.
Inspired by Russian choclate candy, the Dunny on the left was designed by Mikhail Bortnik. On the right is a piece that reminds you to Keep Watch at all times! This eye covered Dunny doesn't have a specific designer attributed to it, though the eyeball is typically credited to L'amour.
Two Dunnys by L'amour Supreme! A cute rendition of the Death Adders bear, on the left, for which the noose accessory seems perfect. And, on the right, who can resist an eyeball monster with a bloody cleaver?!?
