Tim Burton's classic film
Edward Scissorhands begins as a bedtime story, with an elderly woman telling her granddaughter the tale of where snow comes from. Or, at least, where snow comes from in their special little town. And the answer, of course, is a man named Edward who had scissors for hands. This titular character, portrayed on the celluloid by Johnny Depp, is imagined upon the 3-inch tall Dunny platform by
Hungryghost, who created the pictured one-of-a-kind, hand-painted piece. Human faces on the stylized bunny platform have been notoriously difficult to achieve, especially without the use of additional sculpting, but Hungryghost seems to tackle it without hesitation. Using a more sketchy, quote-unquote artistic line style, this unique custom designer toy not only has tiny scissor hands added but also is accompanied with a greenery covered dinosaur, reminiscent of the film's scenes in which Edward creates intricate topiaries. Releasing on December 31st, 2015 at 9am Pacific time, this piece is the first installment in the artist's "Cult Classic" series — which will release ever 31st date and Friday the 13th in 2016. You can buy this piece to add to your collection when it is released in
Hungryghost’s online shop for $75.
