Toy Art Gallery had a Detolf worth of prototypes and test paints on display, which was stunning to see. Alongside the
previously announced “Popaganda Carousel Critters” by
Ron English are a
Beavis & Butthead inspired figure and a psychodelic Charlie Brown piece, both of which could be by English as well, as I believe — for no obvious reason — is the chicken t-rex on the next level down. Next to the strange hybrid dinosaur is a masterfully monstrous piece that resembles the work of
Sam Flores, especially with the hands similar to “Kid Dragon.” Then are first paint samples of
doubleparlour’s “
Merryner” figures,
Lurk’s “
Lurkfoot,” several versions of
DeathCat Toys’s “
Akuma Neko,” and
Splurrt’s “Broken Bones!” Wow, lots of soft vinyl goodness to look forward to…
