Fans have been foaming at the mouth for
Ashley Wood’s alternative universe take on
DC Comics characters, an officially licensed line that is being realized as collectible figures by
threeA, and debuting the series with the ever-popular Batman has certainly not hurt things. While we
previouly did fully reveal this 1/6th scale, 12-inch tall “Steel Age: Batman” figure, a copy of the prototype has been properly displayed at this year's
Toysoul event and captured on film by 3A themselves! While staged shots in a controlled environment are always fun, it's how a piece will look in your art collection that really matters…
For those that haven't been following the backstory of this line, “Steel Age” is Wood's rendition of the DC Universe wherein ”the villains have won” and a “rebirth contingency plan” had to initiated, forging “robotic versions of the fallen heroes.” As for who masterminded these robot versions, it's answered with the knowledge that Lex Luthor is attributed with saying “simply put, there was a gap in the market, I filled it,” within Wood's world. The “Steel Age: Batman” figure, with blue LED light-up eyes, will be released for pre-order in the
Bambaland online store on December 31st, 2015.
