Cameron Tiede and his Texas-based
Wood Candy Workshop reveal another release for DCon this year: “Dum Drops!” Joining the
previously revealed “Toooba” at DCon Booth #110, these 6-inch tall “Dum Drops” are each handcrafted in Flower Mound, Texas and then have been uniquely painted by the artist in acrylics. Constructed out of hardwood cherry or walnut bodies, each piece has articulating maple arms and matching inlaid eyes, all carefully coated in satin finishing oil and beeswax. Packaged in a muslin sack, these expressive monsters will make a great addition to any designer toy collection, but especially one whose owner appreciates the labor-intensive field of wood sculpture.
