After the birth of his daughter,
Pepe Hiller took a two year long hiatus from his wood carving craftsmanship. Or, at least, he stopped publicly sharing his beautiful hand-crafted pieces. He has, in fact, been working on new ideas and refining them, preparing himself for a glorious return… the time for which is now! Aiming to release one piece at the end of every month, the September piece will be the pictured “RAKU” figure, a 5-inch tall samurai made of walnut and alder wood. I'm particularly fond of the tiny metal detailing on character‘s sword (see below). For those interested in this extremely limited piece, we suggest following the artist through
his newsletter,
Twitter,
Instagram, and
Facebook for updates on when it will appear in
his online shop.
