Pepe Hiller's “RAKU” are gloriously hand-crafted wooden samurai!

After the birth of his daughter, Pepe Hiller took a two year long hiatus from his wood carving craftsmanship. Or, at least, he stopped publicly sharing his beautiful hand-crafted pieces. He has, in fact, been working on new ideas and refining them, preparing himself for a glorious return… the time for which is now! Aiming to release one piece at the end of every month, the September piece will be the pictured “RAKU” figure, a 5-inch tall samurai made of walnut and alder wood. I'm particularly fond of the tiny metal detailing on character‘s sword (see below).
