Move over, Buddha, your being replaced by a cat… Mighty Jaxx’s “Maitreya!”

After nearly three years of fabricating some of the most amazing pieces for artists, Mighty Jaxx have finally focused their attention on their own original design. Titled “Maitreya,” which is — in Buddhist tradition — the title given to the bodhisattva who will appear on Earth in the future, achieve complete enlightenment, and teach the pure dharma… yes, the Maitreya will be the successor to the present Buddha. For the fat cat and Asian culture loving Mighty Jaxx, it was obviously for them to make a Buddha-esque feline art statue, which is supposedly filled with luck, wealth, friendship, and a love of having its belly rubbed. Measuring 5-inches tall, these limited edition pieces will be available from Mighty Jaxx’s online shop for $40 apiece on July 5th, 2015 at 7AM Pacific time.
