The 'Pop Up Art Book' gives us more updates... and what an intricate process it is!!!

The production of the 'Pop Up Art Book'  is moving along nicely... after the factory sent physical copies of each nesting sheet for color proofing, they are now setting the dies to cut all the pieces out. Once this is done, the factory will make one more copy of the book, using the cut out pieces from the actual print run, and send that book over as an official verification copy... a crazy amount of work and time goes into each and every step!!! You can see some of the master dies above, featuring the "Umibozu" creatures from The Water Nebula created by Tara McPherson, as well as a whole slew of other dies from other pages in this book!

You can see the color checking process of Junko Mizuno's "Pancakes" spread as well as even more die cutting! This process should be completed within about 1 week, and then once approval of the verification book is done, the bulk assembly of the entire run will start. This will take approx. 3 weeks to assemble all the pages, glue the blocks of finished spreads together, and then bind each block into the covers to make.....a finished book!
