Brooklyn-based artist Brian Donnelly, better known as
KAWS, will have his massive 18-foot tall "Along the Way" milled wooden plank sculpture — pictured above at the Mary Boone Gallery in Chelsea — on display alongside two of his original paintings at the
Brooklyn Museum. The sculpture, which depicts two "Companion" characters, has been gifted to the museum by an anonymous donor in honor of outgoing director Arnold Lehman, while the paintings that will be shown with it are on loan, respectively, from a private collector and from the collection of Tim and Stephanie Ingrassia. This iteration of "Along the Way" is one of only three made and the sole one left in a "natural," unstained wood state. The display at the Brooklyn Museum will take place from June 10th until December 6th, 2015.
