John Stokes’s “‘UltraViolet’ PickleBaby” for Leecifer’s art exhibition!

Paying homage to the same classic kaiju toys that birthed Leecifer’s 8-inch tall “PickleBaby,” our own John“Spanky”Stokes has hand-painted the pictured piece for the upcoming Little Green Men art exhibition at SubUrban Vinyl. Titled the “‘UltraViolet’ PickleBaby,” the vibrant and rainbow-ish array of translucent red, blue, purple, and orange has been applied using real Japanese V-Color paints with cel-vinyl accents and a light black wash. Further accented through the use of both gloss and matte coats, la cerise sur le gâteau for this piece are the glass eye inserts that add a further level of expressiveness to the sculptural work.

Little Green Men, a group custom PickleBaby show, will open on May 16th with a reception from 6-9PM local time and remain on display until June 13th, 2015 at SubUrban Vinyl, 4 Frederick Street, Waldwick, NJ 07463.
