Jason Freeny's "Hemo" the anemic red blood cell!

Jason Freeny has been busy creating a brand new body of work, in a brand new direction as he has shelved his 'toy dissections' for a bit to take up some of his own original ideas... the very first being "Hemo" the anemic red blood cell. Fitted with custom oxygen tanks, breathing mask and flippers. Jason tells us "With my show "MOLT" at La Luz De Jesus in February (posted HERE) I was transitioning forward from my anatomy dissections, shedding the old and moving on to new. Working with my own characters will allow me more freedom to produce my pieces. I was also ripe to stretch into new territory and break away from what had become a repetitive process. I will always use anatomy in my work as it is one of my main inspirations, I'm ready to step forward, not rest on my laurels and create new things." Pretty rad... and we encourage all artist to step outside their comfort zone. As of right now, this is a one-off sculpture, but Jason is looking to get it produced in one form or another... of, and in true Freeny fashion, he documented the entire making of process with some amazing photos!
