"Doctor Paul" a new UBER limited 1/6 scale art figure from Bhead!!!

In the world of toy collecting there are as many styles and choices in designer toys as there are in the all of fine art. From Vinyl to Kaiju, die cast toys to stuffed creations, there no limit to amazing artists and their creations. In the world of 1:6 collecting there is one such artist, a Bobby Fischer of sorts, an artist who is just as elusive and whose work many have followed for ages, his moniker is Bhead. Bhead first popped onto the scene back in 2008, (though his work was well known already in Korea), when artist Zuno, brought his collection to the folks at one sixth warriors (a well known and popular 1:6 collecting community) and the internet blew up with his work.

Bhead's style is more than simply a kitbash of a 1:6 figure though. His unique sense of layering is often imitated but never quite duplicated. The secret to Bheads success is a mixture of layers as mentioned but also a creation of new materials mixed in with a great diorama to tie the whole work together, and thereby transcend the toy itself making it a true work of art. And it appears that many in the toy collecting world agree. Sadly Bhead's work has never been mas produced. The artist has done two very limited runs before of his "Lady Zhivago", each limited to just 10 figures. And then he went silent for many years. Again much like Bobby Fischer, there were hints that he was around much never more than a whisper, followed by a few quick shots of some project he was working on. Each photo was quickly snapped up and followed, though no word where these projects were going until late last year when it seemed a few small production resin projects were to be released. And then this morning Bhead announced he latest 1:6 creation. Titled "Doctor Paul", his latest work is very similar to the few teaser photo's from last year, though those early photo's were clearly samples taken during the build. Were excited to see the final product!

"Doctor Paul" is again a limited release. With a reserve of $2000, there's still a few spaces left on the order. Production is slated to be finished in July (though Bhead hand makes these and Lady Zhivago ended up taking a year) still, a small wait for a figure that will no doubt be a center piece in any collection.
