When high-end art toy producer
threeA had
previously announced an officially licensed line of
DC Comics characters redesigned by
Ashley Wood as robots, we assumed they'd be beginning the series with an interpretation of Batman… But we're now hearing that the dark "Steel Age" of heroes, "where the villains have won" and a "contingency plan is initiated," wherein "robotic versions of the fallen heroes are forged," having been "constructed to wage war on crime," will not debut with the Dark Knight. Rumor now has it that the new line of 1/6th Scale, 12-inch tall collectible figures will actually begin with the above teased group of figures at this year's
Thailand Toy Expo on April 30th to May 3rd, 2015. While obscured in the photo, I think the Steel Age line of robotic heroes will begin with… the Metal Men, advanced artificially intelligent robots that first appeared in
Showcase in 1962! Yes, no need to remake these heroes as robots, they were already made that way! The team was comprised of six metal alloy themed creations Gold, Iron, Lead, Mercury, Platinum, and Tin, and it looks like all six might be in the above teaser!
Please Note: Happy April Fool's Day! The above post is a joke and in no way reflects — to the best of our knowledge — anything that is actually occurring.
