Last night, San Diego was treated to the Grand Opening of a brand new shop downtown... and for all you SD vinyl collectors out there, this is a welcome sight!
Super7, the brainchild of artist Brian Flynn, opened its doors in downtown SD... and fans from all around came out for this special event. Collectors were eager to snag up the exclusive 'Mixed Parts' sofubi "
Crystal Mecha" figure that was released last night. The man himself, Brian Flynn, and resident Super7 artist and rad dude, Josh Herbolsheimer, came down for the event, chatting with folks about the new location, what their plans were for the future and even talked about how EPIC this years SDCC will be (more on that later)! The display cases were full of ReAction figures, t-shirts, and a small section of designer vinyl... true eye candy!
It's nice to have a fixture such as Super7 in San Diego... because other than Gunnzo, we don't have anywhere to pick up designer toys... and yes, we realize SDCC is in San Diego... but that's once a year. We always had to drive up to Los Angeles... but it seems as though that will change now. The store itself has a really nice vibe, a full open floor plan with plenty of room for more product if they decided to add some display islands down the middle of the shop. All in all, it was a really nice event, super low-key, and you could tell that those who attended were excited to have this shop locally! Big things to come... and congrats to Super7 and crew! More photos from the event can be found
HERE, and if you are in the SD area, be sure to swing by and say hello - 701 8th Avenue San Diego, CA 92101.
