You might remember the glorious "Monster Skin Rug" that
Joshua Ben Longo created several years back (see
HERE), but the deservedly high-end price tag might've discouraged some potential buyers. By altering the materials originally used — wood, polymer clay and cashmere — to more affordable alternatives, namely 50% Wool / 50% Polyester Felt Scales sewn to a Felt Silhouette with Polyester Stuffing and ABS Plastic Teeth, these new "Grey Monster Skin Rugs" are more affordable than ever. Measuring 33 × 54 in. (83 × 137 cm), these fantastic looking versions will be
available on Kickstarter — to finance the mass produced elements required to keep the price down — starting Wednesday, March 25th, 2015 and cost a mere $425 apiece.
