AFA Gallery presents: "Safe From Tomorrow" new works Kathie Olivas!!!
– Kathie Olivas
AFA Gallery of SoHo opens an exhibition of 20 original works and 16 sculptures by Kathie Olivas, entitled "Safe From Tomorrow" and this new series of works is "inspired by early American portraiture and what Olivas imagines as the ethers of which all abstract thought comes to fruition. Lonely little girls develop their own protective armor often borrowed from spirit animals and imaginary friends. They are their own protectors and manifestors of tomorrow..." and as you can see from the above images, the pieces Kathie submitted for the show are truly breathtaking. AFA of SoHo will host a reception for the artist on December 6th from 6pm-9pm where admission is free and open to the public, but they encourage you to rsvp via rsvp@afanyc.com. The gallery is located at 54 Greene Street (at Broome) in SoHo! Are you in or around the NYC area, this show is a must!!!
